Connecting the dots-by water

A number of years ago, a bunch of guys set out to paddle a canoe from Lake Superior to James Bay. It took five years, and a bazillion miles of shuttel runs, but they did it. Then a couple of the guys decided to "finish the trip" by paddeling from Lake Superior to-----the Gulf of Mexico. The idea being to connect Sea to Sea across the middle of North America. In 2007, the We crossed the Upper Peninsula of Michigan by canoe, and arrived in Lake Michigan, at Manistique. As of December '09 we are on the down hill side of Wisconsin, two days paddle from the Mississippi River!!
